Why Insulate a Concrete Slab with Cerazorb Underlayment
CeraZorb® synthetic cork underlayment on Concrete Slab
Hello, today, we're going to be talking about why it's so important to isolate your electric heating cable or electric heating system from a concrete slab. The thing is, you don't want to put electric heating cables directly on top of a concrete slab because the concrete slab will try to pull the heat down into it instead of letting it come up through the top of the tile. So what happened here is we took the bare concrete slab. We covered it with thinset and pushed CeraZorb down into it. But I just wanted to bring it to your attention, because we do have a thermal image of this room and we did leave one corner, which is this corner right over here. We left it uninsulated. We didn't put any Cerazorb in this corner. And that's what the thermal image will show you, the difference in the temperature between the uninsulated section and the insulated section in the rest of the room. Now that we had a chance to look at the image itself, you can really see the difference between the two areas. So if you have any questions about how to install CeraZorb once again, check out our website at WarmlyYours.com If you have any questions, you can call us 24/7 at 800 875 5285. But today we learned why it's so important to isolate your heating cable from the slab below it.
