Gutter Mounted Ice Sensor
Advanced Snow & Ice Melt Control Description
The GTR-SS automatic sensor enables reliable, automatic operation of deicing system to reduce operating costs. Gutter-mounted for accuracy, this unit features solid-state sensors for both moisture and temperature encased in a durable protective housing. Its microcontroller design prevents ice bridging. The GTR-SS operates on low voltage, making installation easier. With the included 12-inch, 3-conductor, 18 AWG lead, the sensor can be located up to 2,000 ft. (609.6 m) from the control panel. The GTR-SS is suitable for use with SCP-120 or SCA-DUAL controls.

Customer Questions & Answers
Advanced Snow & Ice Melt Control has 23 Questions and Answers.
Can the heating element be cut to length or shortened?
Our self-regulating heating product is designed to be cut to length at the jobsite by an installer where it can then be end-capped with accessories (sold separately).
However, our constant wattage kits contain heating elements that cannot be shortened or altered in any way.
Do radiant heating products have polarity?
Why a GFEP (GEFP, RCCB, or heat trace circuit breaker) and not a GFCI breaker for WarmlyYours outdoor deicing and snow melting systems?
This National Electric Code (NEC) required protection for fixed outdoor deicing and snow-melting equipment may be accomplished by using circuit breakers equipped with ground-fault equipment protection (GFEP) of 30 mA. It is important to understand that this required equipment protection is not the same as a 5 mA GFCI used for personal protection.
Can the cable be left on in warm weather or all year long?
How do I estimate the roof and gutter deicing cable length needed?
Ā Cable length needed depends on the sizes and areas of the roof that need to be deiced (roof with gutter, downspouts, valleys, and/or dormers). Our best recommendation is for you to give us a call (1-800-875-5285) and we can help you identify what measurements will need to be taken. Alternatively, you can
measure the dimensions of the aforementioned areas and refer to the installation manual to get an idea of how much cable you'll need.Ā

Installed myself, works great!
Michael S., Ellicott City, MD on 02/15/2021
I purchased a Transfer Switch box (12 x 120 volt), a snow sensor, and an ice sensor, and installed them myself as per instructions. I had a couple questions (how to connect two "yellow wires" and where to best position the snow sensor), both answered immediately by a quick phone call. I couldn't be happier.
