Lake Zurich, Ill., Sept. 3, 2024 - According to a recent industry report, the fastest growing region for radiant heating sales in the second quarter of this year was the Rocky Mountain area.
WarmlyYours, a radiant heating manufacturer that specializes in radiant heating products like electric floor heating and snow melting systems, released their “Q2 2024 Industry Report” earlier this week. This report analyzes the sales of radiant heating products (by using WarmlyYours sales data as a proxy for the industry as a whole) within the wider context of the national housing and remodeling markets. One of the most surprising findings in the report was that the Rocky Mountain region (Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Utah, and Wyoming) was the fastest growing area for radiant heating sales at 22.9% growth in year-over-year sales.
Both floor heating and snow melting showed significant growth in the Rocky Mountain region but snow melting saw the biggest increase as it grew from 38% of all sales in Q2 2023 to 54% in Q2 2024.
The most popular snow melting elements were the 240V Snow Melting Mat (up 134.1%) and the 240V Snow Melting Cable (up 18.3%). These products are popular for larger projects because, compared to 120V heating elements, they allow for a better ratio of square foot coverage to the power required. For floor heating, the two most popular products were the Environ Flex Roll (up 91.4%) and the TempZone Flex Roll (up 39.5%).
Julia Billen, owner and president of WarmlyYours, said that identifying these types of customer trends in the Rocky Mountain region has been invaluable for the company.
