Tech Tips: Replacing the Towel Warmer Switch
Replacing a Towel Warmer Switch
If you’re using a towel warmer from WarmlyYours but the switch needs to be replaced or removed, following these instructions can make that job easier for you. Towel warmers add a luxurious and comfortable aspect to your bathrooms, allowing you to use heated towels as you step out of the bath or shower. Don’t miss out on that experience; replacing the switch isn’t as hard as you may think.
Today, we're going to be talking about removing and replacing the towel warmer switch. The first thing you need to do is get a small screwdriver and locate it between the metal ring and the clear rubber-ish cover over the switch. Stick it inside and that will allow you to pull the rubber cover off.
The next step is to remove the switch itself using the same small screw driver, get between the metal ring and the black plastic trim ring of the switch and use the metal ring as a fulcrum. That way you can pry the switch out from the bottom of the towel warmer.
Next if we look at the switch removed from the towel warmer you can see that there are three pins sticking out of the back of the towel warmer. Two of them have single wires running to them, and the third one here at the bottom has two wires going to them. The pin with the two wires going to it is colored gold. The two pins that have the single wires run to them are silver.
Now what you can do is take your screwdriver to move the connector off of the pin and it will come off just like that. Repeat that for the two remaining wires and then install them in the same way back on to the new switch and you're ready to reinsert the switch.
Once the wires are installed onto the new switch make note of this ridge on the outside the plastic of this switch. If you look it will match up with the same ridge on the inside of the towel warmer and also the same ridge on the inside of the protective cover. Just put the protective cover back on, lining that spot up. Now with the clear plastic cover on we can now align this pin up with the slot in the towel warmer. So get it into that trim ring and push the switch in.
