This basement project was on a concrete slab, and required an insulating underlayment to improve the energy efficiency of the floor heating system. The underlayment shown here is our CeraZorb synthetic cork, adhered to the subfloor with thinset.
The next layer for this install includes our TempZone floor heating cable and the fixing strips that help guide the cable. The fixing strips are adhered to the CeraZorb with double sided tape. Floor heating cable is then looped in a serpentine pattern according to your SmartPlan installation guide - provided during ordering. Secure the cable every few feet with masking take to attach it to the CeraZorb. Also remember to cut out a notch in the CeraZorb to fit the end cap of the cable.
Self-leveling cement and then your flooring of choice would go over this layer during installation.
