Description

Winter weather can be beautiful but it can also be very destructive to your home as melted ice can re-freeze and cause serious damage to either your roof or gutter systems. This happens because the perimeter of a building's roof is typically much colder than the central parts which are warmed by rising heat in the home. The snow on your roof over the central parts melts and then runs to the perimeter where it is cold enough for it to freeze again (which is why you see icicles forming). This is also when ice dams can form and cause potential leaks and water damage later on.

An electric roof and gutter deicing system works by heating the perimeter of your roof and your gutters with electric heating cables. The system ensures that all of the snow melt flows as it should through your gutter system to prevent any ice build-up.

WarmlyYours offers both self-regulating and constant wattage roof and gutter deicing systems so that you're sure to find the right heating system for your project.

Our self-regulating heating product is designed to be cut to length at the jobsite by an installer where it can then be end-capped with accessories (sold separately).
However, our constant wattage kits contain heating elements that cannot be shortened or altered in any way.

This National Electric Code (NEC) required protection for fixed outdoor deicing and snow-melting equipment may be accomplished by using circuit breakers equipped with ground-fault equipment protection (GFEP) of 30 mA. It is important to understand that this required equipment protection is not the same as a 5 mA GFCI used for personal protection.

We do not recommend leaving the cable on all year long. It's an unnecessary use of energy to run the cable during warm weather and it could actually cause the heating cables to overheat if they're left on during very warm weather.Ā

Ā Cable length needed depends on the sizes and areas of the roof that need to be deiced (roof with gutter, downspouts, valleys, and/or dormers). Our best recommendation is for you to give us a call (1-800-875-5285) and we can help you identify what measurements will need to be taken. Alternatively, you can
measure the dimensions of the aforementioned areas and refer to the installation manual to get an idea of how much cable you'll need.Ā

Quality Product

J S., Park City, UT on 01/10/2024

This is a quality product and far superior to the crap you can get at the local big box hardware store. It is packaged well, unravels nicely, and does not get tangled. My only complaint was certain lengths I needed were not in stock.

So glad I went with WarmlyYours

William M., Three Lakes, WI on 01/09/2024

I was slow to decide on a company to help me with my metal roof deicing project. I had a budget I needed to stay under. I wanted to do the work myself including the Electrical (my Dad is an electrician retired but would help). I decided on WarmlyYours because they had the best help video's, and staff to help plan and install my project. I didn't think I would get it up and running this year because of my late start. A slow start to winter let me get one leg of a two leg plan done up and running. Now we finally have snow and my one leg works great. This spring laying out the other leg will be easy (and warmer) this spring.

Roof Valley ice buildup

George E., Exmoor, NB on 11/24/2023

After talking with a support person I installed a single run up one valley to the peak and down the other. Weā€™ve only has a couple of snow falls but so far it appears to be doing the job of preventing ice build up. The heat cables are well made and look like they will stand up in a harsh Canadian winter. Finally a system that will work on a steel roof. Friendly and helpful people to deal with. A little pricy but well worth it with the warranty. Satisfied so far.

Quality in the details

J S., Park City, UT on 11/13/2023

WarmlyYours constant wattage heat tape is far better than the competition. Compared to the Frost King brand sold at Home Depot, and the Heat It brand sold on Amazon, WarmlyYours has a superior packaging. The heat tape always unravels without getting tangled, unlike the competitor brands. Also, the aluminum clips are nicely separated from one another, which makes it easy to grab what's needed.

Great customer experience

Helen C., Wood Dale, IL on 11/07/2023

The fact that they are willing to look at pictures and measurements to help figure out how much deicing cable that was needed was great in itself. Cable was high quality and there was plenty of roof connector clips and accessories.

Winter bomb cycle

Anonymous, Medina, OH on 12/27/2022

The recent winter bomb cycle was the first real test of the de-icing protection. It withstood the actual cold temperature, the added windchill factor and the high winds. It worked and stayed attached through it all.

Excellent support, great product

David T., Woodland Hills, UT on 11/20/2022

Everything arrived well packaged and well documented. It was easy to connect and put terminators on the self regulating wire and the roof clamps were nicely engineered. I have already used the system several times and everything works great. Unfortunately the adhesives failed completely, even though they were applied with an air temperature of 65 and a roof temperature of 85 to a clean, new roof. I will probably have to use tar to reattach them in the spring.

Roof heat cables, Yes!

Gigi D., La Grange, IL on 02/11/2022

Product works great. WarmlyYours terrific; prepared me with all the necessary information for the installation and back end support if we needed it at the time of installation. Iā€™ll be back.

So far so good

Scott K., Lake Zurich, IL on 01/22/2022

Iā€™ve had issues with ice building up in the gutters for 15 years. I Installed a couple of 100ft heating cables in my main trouble areas and with one decent snowfall in the books, they did the job as advertised.

Problem Solved!

Ian M., Richmond Hill, ON on 12/05/2021

A very nice kit overall. Easy to install (especially if you are a ladder monkey) with clear and concise directions. The kits came with more than enough shingle clips and cable spacers - which was very welcome (and so rare these days). I installed 2 sets ā€“ in the gutters, downspouts and on the roof - to solve an ice dam in a shady alcove.
