The dictionary definition of “remodel” is “to alter the structure of.” But for anyone who has actually undertaken a remodel, I bet that description falls pretty flat compared to the stress you experienced along with how rewarding all of that hard work felt at the end.
Ultimately, every remodel is a reevaluation of your life and how you live it so it shouldn’t be surprising that it can be a stressful endeavor. You have to ask yourself a lot of questions that will guide the project: how do we want to use this room? Would we use the basement more if it was warm year-round? What do I want to include in the bathroom renovation to make my morning routine a little easier?
That’s why our Share Your Story program is so important to us. These remodels and renovations are fascinating stories about the lives of our customers and how they use their homes and we get to learn a lot about our customers from these stories. The most recent submission was shared with us by Aalto Home Services from Minnesota.
Aalto Home Services was established in 1963 by Joe Aalto, said Todd Aalto, his son.
“We are 3rd generation currently,” said Aalto. “We are a general contractor that does interior and exterior remodeling.”
Aalto said he was very happy with how the project turned out.
“We were hired to completely remodel a client's master suite including a full redesign of the bathroom. They wanted a heated tile floor and shower seat as well. We contacted Warmly Yours for a quote and design of the heating system. The supplies showed up quickly and the install was easy. The client is extremely happy with the results.”
According to Aalto, the homeowner wanted to incorporate floor heating into the project because the previous room had it and the homeowner had become used to the comfort and luxury of the heated floors.
“They love the heated floor and shower seat and the programming features,” said Aalto. “It’s a great source of comfort for the client in our northern climate, especially with tile flooring. This client stated she feels like they're in a spa.”
For this particular master suite project, a radiant floor heating system was incorporated beneath beautiful tiles, which not only enhanced the aesthetic but also the overall functionality of the space. The radiant system used in the bathroom floor is part of WarmlyYours' TempZone™ product line, offering reliable and energy-efficient heating beneath tiles.
But what makes this master bathroom truly unique is the heated shower bench seat, a feature that takes spa-like comfort to the next level. Imagine sitting on a warm bench as steam fills the air, creating a tranquil moment to unwind after a long day. The TempZone™ Shower Bench system is specifically designed for this kind of luxury, offering a safe and waterproof heating solution that’s perfect for showers and wet areas.
One of the standout benefits of this heated master suite bathroom is the ability to customize comfort with programmable thermostats. WarmlyYours offers a range of programmable thermostats. You can set timers to ensure the system is warm by the time you wake up.
Additionally, installation of these systems is designed to be straightforward, particularly when working with a reliable installer familiar with radiant heat systems. WarmlyYours offers support at every step, from project design and product selection to installation guidance, ensuring homeowners and professionals alike feel confident in their choices.
This attention to detail and emphasis on user comfort reflects the growing trend of incorporating wellness features into home designs. Today’s homeowners aren’t just looking for functional spaces; they’re looking for environments that support relaxation, wellness, and even indulgence in daily routines. Radiant heating, especially when integrated into luxurious spaces like a master suite bathroom, taps directly into this trend, providing a calming, spa-like experience without having to leave home.
While heated floors and a heated shower bench might seem like pure indulgence, they also offer a range of practical benefits. For instance, the uniform heating provided by radiant floors helps reduce moisture and humidity in the bathroom, making it easier to maintain a mold-free environment. The even heat distribution also means no more cold spots, ensuring that the entire space, from floor to bench, stays consistently warm.
For anyone considering a remodel or new construction, it’s clear that adding radiant heating to a bathroom is more than just a luxury—it's an investment in comfort, energy efficiency, and the long-term enjoyment of your home. Whether you’re creating your dream master bath or updating an existing space, features like heated floors and a heated shower bench offer a daily dose of relaxation that’s hard to beat.
Aalto said that this project was the first one that his company worked on with WarmlyYours but that it wouldn’t be the last.
“Outstanding customer service,” said Aalto. “We got quick replies to questions and fast delivery.”
Additionally, Aalto said that the online tools developed by WarmlyYours, like the Underfloor Heating Design Tool, have greatly improved the process of quoting radiant heating for busy professionals like himself.
“We have limited free time and your design layout tool helps a lot when I can just send out a sketch and you can take it from there,” said Aalto.
